ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST

The job listing is for an Engineering Geologist position within the Geotechnical Team of company. The role involves working on various projects and offers opportunities to contribute to other environmental fields, such as contaminated sites and water resources, based on workload demands.

Training and experience in:
• Planning and undertaking engineering geological/geotechnical investigations including aerial photograph interpretation, mapping, supervision of drilling and test pitting, hand-augering and preparation of geological logs, organising lab testing and interpretation of results
• Engineering geological assessment including cross-section interpretation
• Geotechnical engineering assessment of field data and computer estimation
• Concise reporting
• Soil/structure interface assessments
• Slope stability assessments
• Seismic/liquefaction assessment and mitigation

Training/experience in the following would also be advantage:
• Hydrogeological drilling programmes, permeability testing and conceptual model development
• Designs using geosynthetics/use of geosynthetics

Personal Qualities
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work on several projects at a time

• Self-starter
• Professional approach to work

Qualifications
Degree, preferably Honours or Masters Level in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering from a well-recognised university

GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER

The Geotechnical Engineer works within the engineering geology/geotechnical team on a wide range of projects. This role includes the opportunity to work in other environmental fields including contaminated sites and water resources, depending on workload.

SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST

Overall, the incumbent will provide technical input and solutions to a wide range of environmental projects carried out by our Contaminated Land team. This involves the investigation and assessment of a range of chemicals and contaminants in the environment. Sites commonly investigated include - petroleum facilities, commercial/industrial/residential land, infrastructure projects, asbestos contaminated land, landfills, waste facilities, horticultural land and others.

Qualifications
Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Environmental Science or Engineering, from a well-recognised university
• Minimum 5 years, preferably in a consulting environment
