AUT offers a number of doctoral scholarships to attract high-achieving doctoral research students and encourage doctoral studies in areas that enhance AUT’s research capability.
AcademyEX International Student Scholarship:
The academyEX International Student Excellence Scholarship is awarded to those demonstrating academic excellence in previous study and a commitment to excelling in further study to continue their learning and have an impact in their organisation, communities and industries.
The main purpose of the Scholarship is to attract new international students of high calibre to enrol in the Master’s degree programmes at academyEX. A scholarship of up to NZ$11,000 towards the tuition fees will be awarded.
Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships for International Students
For international students who have not previously been admitted to the University of Otago and who are planning to undertake full-time, full-year undergraduate study in 2023 or 2024.

University of Otago Entrance Scholarships
For students who have not previously been admitted to the University of Otago and who are planning to undertake full-time, full-year undergraduate study. Many of these scholarships are open to international students who have completed completed Years 12 and 13 in a New Zealand school, or the University of Otago Pathway | Te Huarahi programme (or an equivalent foundation course at another New Zealand tertiary institution).

For international students commencing selected postgraduate programmes at the University of Otago, studying full-time either on campus or by distance learning in 2024.

Lincoln University International Taught Master Merit Scholarship
Qualifying international students will be awarded with a scholarship of NZ$7,000 – NZ$10,000 towards the overall cost of their study in one of the 180 credit taught master’s programmes. Students must have a GPA of at least B+ average in the last year of their bachelor’s degree to meet requirements.
Please note: The International Taught Master Merit Scholarship is only available to students enrolled in the full 180-credit Taught Master’s programme.
